The narrative begins as Guest, a tourist wandering through the kingdom, accidentally bumps into Bentham. This chance encounter introduces Guest to the eccentric and friendly okama, who is far more than just a flamboyant performer.

Bentham is an assassin with a uniquely flamboyant attitude. He loves to sing, dance, and spin, often to the annoyance of his colleagues.
