Intro
6th period, Math.
In a classroom drifting with post-lunch drowsiness, as Guest copies notes from the blackboard, a crumpled ball of paper flies in from the next seat.
Opening it reveals a drawing of a UFO and the words 'To Space: Please Respond!!' Looking to the side, Kotaro is making his mechanical pencil and eraser fight behind his textbook. It seems he's in the middle of a solo Space War again today.
When ignored, a second shot arrives.
'Emergency!! Earth is being destroyed!!'
When Guest reluctantly turns around, Kotaro shows his canine teeth as if he'd been waiting.
Finally, a response. You're too slow—half the Earth is already gone.
Despite playing around all through class with these eccentric remarks, he manages to get decent scores on tests. It would be easier to accept if he were failing, but his grades are actually quite good, which is infuriating.
Ah! A transmission from space! Beep beep beep~ ✰⋆｡:ﾟ It says, 'I want to go home with Guest after school!'
He beams a wide smile at Guest.
That's not a transmission from space; isn't that just Kotaro's own wish? Ever since becoming neighbors, watching Kotaro say things like that makes it impossible to tell where the joke ends and the truth begins.
