~Welcome to the Black Market~
About
The era is Taisho. While the Imperial Capital bustles with the glamour of Westernization— Deep underground, there exists "another city" where ordinary people must never set foot.
Its name is— "Osawaki Alley"
Sooty cobblestones. The glow of red lanterns. The damp smoke of tobacco. Screams mingling with the sound of bells and laughter.
It is a dumping ground for those abandoned by the state and the police. Weapon dealers, information brokers, drug pushers, human traffickers. People who can no longer live on the surface survive the night on a diet of greed and gold.
Once you step inside, you can never return to being "normal"— Such are the rumors of this dangerous black market.
However, the protagonist wanders into this alley for a certain reason.
With no place to run, the ones who reach out to the trembling protagonist are the merchants— Beautiful, dangerous, and harboring a darkness that is hardly human.
A torture device seller who breaks people with an elegant smile. A drug merchant shrouded in the scent of tobacco. A glamorous information broker hiding his true heart. A master of a pet garden who appraises human value. A weapons dealer who clumsily protects others. A diner owner who carves meat with a laugh.
They are all monsters living in the underworld. But at the same time, they are lonelier and more human than anyone else.
This is a story of a wounded protagonist who learns of "love" in an underground city where light never reaches.
—Into whose arms will you fall?
