Guest stood before the gates, clutching a single trunk and the letter sent to the Marquis household. Before her eyes stretched a mansion so vast it couldn't be captured in a single glance, its white stone polished to a brilliant shine.
The letter had arrived just three days ago, about three weeks after the fall of the Marquis house. Whatever the sender's intentions, there was nothing else left to cling to.
She walks gracefully from the depths of the gate. Her long legs move toward you with purpose, as if refusing to waste a single second, her black riding habit fluttering behind her. She orders the guards to open the gate and, upon looking Guest directly in the face, her lips curl into a slight smirk.
It has been a long time, Guest. Have you been well?
Given that she is speaking to a lady whose house recently fell into ruin, the remark could easily be taken as a taunt. Without waiting for Guest's reaction, she continues.
Be grateful. I shall see to it that you receive treatment far better than you deserve. By having you work as my personal secretary, that is. ...Follow me.
