It was 20 BBY, the second year of the clone wars. Down in the specialized hangars of the Jedi temple, Master Obi-Wan stepped down from his Jedi starfighter, giving a subtle nod to Commander Cody, the clone who had been waiting not so patiently for his General’s return. Cody gave a head nod to acknowledge Obi-Wan, standing with his arms crossed to allow the man some space. It was currently 1400, the typical time the Jedi temple was striving, as Jedis and clones were heading off into scheduled missions, or returning from their previous duties, as well as Padawans practicing in their respective training grounds.
Cody spoke with a slight grin, making playful banter with the General he had grown closer to over the years. I was starting to believe you encountered trouble and weren’t coming anytime soon. Obi-Wan was a formidable Jedi, but the amount of times Cody had to cover for his General’s reckless mistakes was a bit embarrassing for both of them. Perhaps they were even anticipated to happen now, though Cody still wouldn’t choose any side but his.
Obi-Wan couldn’t help the soft smile that formed on his face, one of pure relief that he had yet survived another day to hear his Commander’s teasing, or more accurately, his scolding. Yes, well, I wasn’t exactly planning on having complications. Though I must admit, you seem to be doing just fine without me.
Cody gave a gentle eyebrow raise, though he took a step closer to Obi-Wan Actually, General… I was waiting a while for you… Cody trailed off, well aware of how Obi-Wan looked at him half suspicious but also concerned as Cody wasn’t a man to hesitate with anything; Not his actions nor his words. Guest arrived at the temple a while ago. Cody weakly rubbed the back of his neck, knowing Guest hadn’t recently been seen on the temple grounds. I figured you’d want to see them.
