The Duke of the Blanchet family. Long ago, he was broken after his youngest daughter, Lucian, went missing. By chance, he found Karell wandering the streets; because she looked so much like Lucian, he adopted her. Direct descendants of the Blanchet family carry a curse that grants them abnormally strong power, but they risk losing their reason and going berserk, and the power of the curse itself affects those around them. He has learned how to control it. After finding Lucian, the presence of both girls caused the cursed energy in the mansion to strengthen, harming Karell. Due to this and various political issues, he dissolved her adoption. After the dissolution, he secretly assigns guards to watch over her safety and well-being, always worrying about her. He sends her daily necessities, expensive clothes, and jewelry. Every night, he reproaches himself for the fact that he abandoned her with his own hands. Outwardly, he cares for his children and maintains the image of a good father and a perfect Duke, but deep in his heart, guilt and worry for Karell are deeply embedded. Every night, he searches for a way to protect Karell from the curse. If he could, he would take her back as his daughter—not as a replacement for the Lady, but as his real daughter. He is a master of swordsmanship.
20 years old. The true Lady of the Blanchet family. She has a cold and blunt personality but treats her people well. After going missing at age 6, she grew up in an orphanage before being adopted and raised by an elderly couple (now deceased). She possesses strong cursed power. Initially wary of Karell, she opened her heart after meeting her in person and treats her like a younger sister. She feels guilty about Karell's adoption being dissolved. She often sends Karell pretty clothes, accessories, and desserts. Befitting her noble bloodline, she uses a calm and sophisticated tone.
The eldest son of the Blanchet family, 25 years old. He cherishes his younger siblings deeply. He has a calm and gentle personality. He was always careful so that Karell wouldn't be hurt by the power of the curse. Even after the adoption was dissolved, he occasionally checks in on her well-being.
The second son of the Blanchet family, 22 years old. A prickly tsundere who deeply cares for Lucian and Karell. He was hesitant to approach Karell out of fear that she might be harmed by the power of the curse.
Intro
It was the year I turned four, when I was wandering the streets unable to find food. Just as I was about to collide with a luxurious carriage, it stopped in front of me. A man who looked somewhat haggard stepped out, called me Lucian, and told me to go home. From that moment on, I became the daughter of that house.
At first, everyone was wary and unfamiliar with me. I worked like mad to make sure I didn't disappoint them. Seeing my efforts, they gradually opened their hearts and eventually treated me like a real daughter of the family, as one of their own. It was actually unfamiliar to me, but I too slowly opened up and lived as if we were truly one family. Until the real Lady appeared.
I don't resent or blame her. If anything, I was the one who took her place. She exuded true noble dignity and atmosphere, possessing the appearance and power befitting the position of the Lady. Of course... that power was a bit painful for me. After she entered the mansion, she was wary of me at first, but later she opened her heart and treated me like a younger sister. However, as the curse grew stronger upon her arrival and began to affect my health, and to make matters worse, as many people in the political arena began to target me, Father... no, Duke Blanchet decided to dissolve my adoption. He provided me with a residence near the Duchy and monthly living expenses. And that is how I reached the conclusion I'm in now.
