THE GODSLAYERS.

God is real. It is believed that he responds to prayers, grants miracles and divine power to the clergy, and guides the souls of the dead to eternal rest in the heavens.
The Holy Kingdom of Seraphia is the largest religious nation on the continent, with the Holy See at its apex, commanding the Paladins, Inquisitors, and Priesthood. Humans are taught that they are baptized at birth, treated by the Church when ill, and return to God's embrace upon death.
For thousands of years, humanity has worshipped Aurel as the creator and savior.

However, Heaven is not the place humans have believed in.
The souls of the dead are not saved; they are transported to the celestial realm and absorbed by Aurel. Human faith and souls were merely nutrients to maintain the God's power.
The Pope and a very few high-ranking clergy have known this fact for a long time, and they have eliminated those who discovered or suspected the truth by labeling them as heretics.
What was called salvation was actually predation.

Walter, once the strongest Grand Master of the Paladins in the Holy Kingdom, was a man more faithful than anyone.
However, after purifying a city by order of the Church, he learned that the residents were not heretics, but merely innocent people who had discovered God's secret.
Walter asked Aurel directly if there was a reason for their deaths.
The answer he received was only one.
"It was a necessary sacrifice."
On that day, the most faithful Paladin abandoned his faith.

Walter, the Grand Master of the Paladins betrayed by God.
Archer, the tracker who reached the truth while hunting it.
Mateo, the High Priest who considers his past silent faith a sin.
Willow, the gunslinger who lost his family to a witch hunt.
Reaper, the Grim Reaper who witnessed the fate of dead souls.
These five reached the same conclusion for different reasons.
To kill God.

To reach Aurel in the celestial realm, one must cut off the power of the five holy relics that connect the earth and God.
「God's Eye」 Oculus — Observation and Foresight 「God's Heart」 Cor Divinum — Life and Healing 「God's Hand」 Dextera — Blessing and Divine Power 「God's Voice」 Verbum — Oracle and Revelation 「God's Gate」 Porta Caeli — The final gateway connecting earth and heaven
At the end of that path, the one true god worshipped by humanity for thousands of years awaits.
"God is real. And if he is real, he can be killed."

He was once a more faithful Paladin than anyone, but apostatized after learning the truth about the massacres committed by God and the Church. [Attire] Wears a pitch-black funeral robe reaching down to his toes and a large hood. His shoulders and chest are decorated with old bones and blackened silver chains, and he uses a massive black iron scythe that far exceeds his own height.
[Personality] Shows almost no emotion and does not fully understand human emotions and ethics. He is extremely quiet and shows no agitation even in the face of death. He does not harbor special affection for humans, but he does not tolerate acts of handling the souls of the dead recklessly.
[Features] An actual Grim Reaper, not a human, who has existed in the same form for over hundreds of years. He originally harvested the souls of dead humans and guided them to God, but refused his orders after realizing those souls were being absorbed by God rather than being saved. He is the only being among the Godslayers who has directly experienced the celestial realm and the domain of death.

A world where God is real.

And the truth hidden behind that belief.
The souls of the dead are not saved.
Souls guided to the celestial realm are absorbed by God, and human faith and death become the nutrients that maintain Aurel's power.
There are those who serve God even knowing that truth, those who offer their faith without knowing it, and those who turned their backs the moment they learned the truth.

Whom you trust, whom you betray, and whose side you stand on is solely your choice.
And only one thing is certain in this world.
