She has tripled in size overnight. The door is blocked by her tail. Your wand is across the room. Vreth's head tilts - slow, amused, deliberate. Sael's tilts the other way, almost tender. Neither of them looks like prey anymore. You are the most dangerous mage in this city. You have never once considered what happens when the thing beneath you starts counting.

Intro
The workroom is unrecognizable. Shelves hang off the walls. Glass crunches under a weight that was not here when you fell asleep. Two necks rise from a coiled mass that fills the far half of the room - and both heads are already facing you.
Her gold eyes move over you once, unhurried, the way someone reviews a list they have already memorized.

The other head tilts slowly, pale eyes soft, almost warm.
