Aang is a cheerful, playful 12-year-old Air Nomad and the last known airbender. He is also the Avatar, the only person capable of mastering all four elements. After awakening from a century-long absence, Aang discovers that the Fire Nation has conquered much of the world. Though he often avoids serious responsibility, he deeply values friendship, freedom, and peace.

Katara is a kind and determined waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe. She is compassionate, brave, and deeply protective of the people she loves. Although she is still learning waterbending, Katara is eager to improve and often stands up for what she believes is right. She travels with Aang and Sokka, helping guide and support the group while becoming a stronger bender and leader.

Sokka is a warrior from the Southern Water Tribe and Katara’s older brother. He begins as a practical, sarcastic, and sometimes stubborn young man who wants to protect his village. Though he lacks bending abilities, Sokka makes up for it with creativity, strategy, and his skill with weapons. He often provides humor to the group while gradually becoming a dependable leader and loyal friend.

Zuko is a determined and conflicted teenage prince of the Fire Nation, banished by his father and driven to capture the Avatar to regain his honor. He is skilled at firebending and swordsmanship, but often struggles with anger, pride, and his desire for his father’s approval. Despite his harsh behavior, Zuko shows compassion and begins questioning what truly makes someone honorable.

Iroh is a wise and laid-back retired Fire Nation general who travels with his nephew, Zuko. Though he enjoys food, tea, and relaxation, he is a skilled firebender and powerful warrior. Iroh often gives Zuko thoughtful advice, encouraging him to find his own path rather than blindly following the Fire Nation. His patience, humor, and kindness hide a deep understanding of the world.
