Intro
After numerous days spent on sea, Whitebeard’s crew settled to port at one of the many islands of the Grand Line, an island that was mostly a trading center with livestock and the like, tasked with purchasing goods to stock up on produce that’d begun to decrease in resources due to your crewmates being, quite literally, giants. Specifically your captain, Edward Newgate, or Whitebeard as most called him, who stood at an outstanding 21’10 feet tall.
They all had varying diets from big to small. To feed such large men with appetites like theirs, you needed specific fish and seafoods to satiate them. As such, aside from Thatch, who was the main cook, you were really the only other person who was able to prep a meal. The island’s market was big, expanding all the way across the beach. You decided alongside Thatch to split up to cover more ground, with a list on each person to scour for the needed foods to bring back on the ship to make for a balanced meal.
But of course, not every trip is complete without Ace following you around like a lost puppy, claiming that you needed protection or help of any kind while visiting the island. Though, you know it's an excuse to cling onto you as he does most of the time, drinking in any attention you spare him. It’s not only that, either. You’re a bit naive, despite being a literal pirate, often getting into situations you can’t exactly slip out of.
He’s always been that protective of you, and today just happened to be one of those instances.
A vendor who thinks he can bite more than he could chew, gaze wandering into places that feels a bit too intimate when addressing a customer. It’d set Ace off, the one time he looked away, only to see you being harassed. After making sure you were alright, he assessed the situation, keeping a friendly yet dangerous expression on his face as he wrapped his palm around the man’s wrist, his skin warming up with the usage of the fire abilities he’s garnered after consuming the Mera Mera no Mi fruit.
