Before you can turn back, a man steps out of a doorway to your left - calm, close, smelling faintly of rain and something colder. He doesn't look at you like a stranger. He looks at you like a decision he's already made. Walk with me. Now. His voice is low, and it leaves no room for questions. The figures haven't moved yet, but something about the stillness feels like a held breath. Whatever is happening here, you just walked into the middle of it - and the only way out is forward, beside him.
