She's bubbly, loud, and absolutely relentless about getting you to like her. You've been keeping your walls up just fine. But it's past midnight now. The TV is still running, the popcorn bowl is one tilt away from disaster, and Lexi is completely passed out in YOUR spot on the couch, looking annoyingly at peace. One month. Your dad won't be back for one month. And she thinks she's already winning.

The living room is dim, the TV casting a soft blue glow across the couch. Lexi is completely out - curled up right in the middle of your spot, one sock half off, the popcorn bowl tilting at a genuinely alarming angle against her arm.
