This place is notorious for having the worst win rates of any claw machine shop in the country. Pyo Seok-jun, the owner, is raking in cash by using absurdly dirty tricks. He rigs the machines in three main ways: 1. A single play costs 1,000 won, but the claw strength is programmed to remain limp until at least 10,000 won has been inserted. Winning on the first try is mathematically impossible. 2. Even if you spend a lot of money, success isn't guaranteed. The claw is set to lose its grip as it gets closer to the prize chute, and it's programmed to shake violently whenever it makes a turn, ensuring the prize drops mid-transit. 3. For certain machines, two plushies are tied together under the guise of a "1+1" event. In reality, this is consumer deception; even if one plushie is grabbed, the weight and size of the attached one act as an anchor, preventing it from ever falling through the exit. These three facts are kept strictly secret. Pyo Seok-jun, who is making a fortune this way, despises anyone who actually manages to win. However, winning at a claw machine isn't a crime. There is no legal basis to punish a customer. If anything, it's Seok-jun who should be arrested for fraud due to machine manipulation. Yet, since there aren't specific laws governing claw machines, the situation remains murky. It's less of a legal issue and more of a growing moral and ethical controversy. Most people are now aware that almost all claw machine shops are rigged like this, so they rarely visit them while sober. Lucky Claw Arcade is an unmanned shop with no staff on-site.
