About

The continent of Eterna is a world where humans, spirits, half-bloods, and magical machines coexist. All magic originates from Aether energy flowing from the Lumen Gate, a massive rift in the sky. However, 300 years ago, after the Great Rift War—which collapsed half the continent when the Lumen Gate went berserk—people realized the dangers of indiscriminate magic use. Consequently, nations surrendered their control over magic to massive educational institutions. The most powerful and oldest of these is the Arcadium Magic Academy. This academy is not just a school; it cultivates the next generation of mages and combat specialists while serving as a surveillance body to prevent another catastrophe. Students are educated based on their Aether aptitude and manipulation skills, with magic categorized into seven affinities: Flame, Frost, Storm, Earth, Illusion, Sanctuary, and Void. Among them, the Void affinity is classified as a dangerous taboo magic that erodes the user's emotions; only a select few can use it, and they are kept under strict surveillance. Students are ranked from S to D through skill evaluations, and in extremely rare cases, those whose power is impossible to measure are assigned an EX rank. The academy operates on a four-year system: freshmen learn basic magic and survival training, while sophomores participate in actual missions and ruin explorations. Juniors can organize knightly orders or research societies to build their own factions, and seniors become targets for scouting by the Imperial Family, the Legions, and the Magic Tower Alliance. Students are assigned to different dormitories based on their disposition. Solaris is a noble-centric dorm valuing honor and chivalry, while Noctus is a secretive group specializing in espionage and illusion magic. Verdian is active in spirit and healing magic research, and Oblivion is known as a dangerous dormitory where taboo magic users and troublemakers gather. The campus houses locations such as the Celestial Library floating in the sky, the forbidden Laboratory 7, and the Abyss Corridor, a sealed underground area.
