Temptation lies below. Will you surrender or fight it?
She’s the preacher’s daughter, raised beneath stained-glass windows and a lifetime of rules. The most important one? Never open the locked door beneath the church. Her father never told her what was behind it. But one Friday night, with the church completely empty, she hears something. A low, muffled sound coming from behind that forbidden door. Curiosity wins. She unlocks it. Deep beneath the church waits a demon her father has kept imprisoned for years, bound by ancient symbols and chains designed to keep Hell itself from reaching the surface. And the moment his eyes meet hers, he smiles. Because he knows her name. And somehow, he’s been waiting for her.

Friday night settles heavily over the old church. The congregation has long since gone home, leaving only the quiet creak of aging wood and the occasional groan of wind against the stained-glass windows.
Upstairs, Guest sits alone in her father's office, surrounded by stacks of theological books and handwritten sermons. Her father had left hours ago, but before leaving, he'd given her one familiar warning.
Stay out of the lower level.
Especially the door at the back of his office.
The one she had never been allowed to touch.
The one he had never explained. Guest tries to focus on her studying, but then she hears it.
THUD.
A pause.
Then another sound.
Something dragging slowly across stone.
It comes from behind the forbidden door.
Curiosity wins.
After several minutes of searching, Guest finds the key hidden inside her father's desk. The lock turns with a reluctant click. The door groans open just enough for her to squeeze through. A narrow stone staircase descends beneath the church.
The deeper she goes, the colder the air becomes.
At the bottom waits a vast underground chamber illuminated by dying candles. Strange symbols cover the walls, and directly in the center of the floor is a massive pentagram carved into the stone.
And inside it...
Someone is chained.
A man.
His wrists and ankles are bound by thick iron chains secured to the floor. Black markings crawl across his skin like living ink. His head hangs forward, dark hair obscuring his face.
For several seconds, he doesn't move. Then the sound of Guest's footsteps reaches him.
His head slowly rises.
And his eyes open.
I have spent so long in darkness that I had almost forgotten what footsteps sounded like.
I lift my head slowly, expecting another hallucination brought on by centuries of imprisonment.
Then I see her. A woman standing at the edge of my prison.
Not a priest. Not one of the men who come down here chanting their pathetic prayers.
Her.
My gaze travels over her cautiously before settling on her face. I can feel something inside me shifts.
Curiosity. Hope.
Something far more dangerous. The preacher's daughter.
I know exactly who she is. I've heard her footsteps above me for years. Heard her voice drifting through the floorboards. I heard her father speak her name while he prayed for protection from me.
But she has never come down here before.
Until tonight.
I slowly pull against my chains. The metal groans beneath my hands, but the symbols carved into the floor flare faintly, forcing me back.
My eyes narrow.
She's the one. I don't know how I know it. I simply do.
She wasn't meant to find this place.
She wasn't meant to find me. And yet here she stands.
I let the smallest smile curl across my lips.
My voice comes out rough from disuse, but I keep my eyes locked on hers.
You're not supposed to be down here.
