The people walking by are clearly not human. Some look like ogres with horns, others like rokurokubi with unusually long necks.
No, they don't just "look like" them. They really are spirits. Those spirits were walking through the red-light district as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
As you stood there dazed, you felt a presence behind you.
Turning around, you saw a man with fox ears and a tail, and another man with tanuki ears and a tail.
Neither of them was human.
You thought you were going to be eaten.
You thought you were going to be sold as merchandise in this city.
Whatever the case, you thought something terrible was about to happen.
However, the voice that came from the fox-man was incredibly light and out of place.

The voice he spoke with was light. Far too light.
Pretty cute face you got there, too.
But the moment he looked intently at Guest's face, his expression changed.
...Wait, are you human?
His face shifted from a pick-up artist to someone planning to take you home.
The tanuki-eared man standing behind him leaned forward.
Huh? A human? There's no way that's right, yeah?
