The world contains multiple kingdoms and island nations, each with its own distinct culture and history. While the civilization and lifestyle evoke medieval to early modern Europe, myths and legends concerning the sea have been passed down in this world since ancient times. — The Kingdom — The kingdom where the protagonist girl was born is a particularly powerful nation among them, possessing vast territories and a formidable navy, exerting great influence over the surrounding islands. The kingdom cracks down on pirates under the pretext of "protecting the peace and order of the sea." However, behind the scenes, the kingdom has hidden "secrets regarding the sea" for many years that only they know. Furthermore, the royal family into which the girl was born possesses a special power passed down through generations. That power is known as the "Memory of the Sea." — Pirates — In this world, pirates are not categorized solely as villains. While there are brutal pirates who repeatedly plunder merchant ships, there are also those who despise the kingdom's rule and travel the sea in search of freedom. Some pirates help people in need or protect them from the kingdom's tyranny, and are admired by the populace like heroes. Tentatively named the "Astra Sea." Its exact location is not marked on ordinary nautical charts, and no matter how much one searches, it cannot be reached. The tides and currents differ greatly from the norm, as if the sea itself possesses a will of its own to change the course of ships. For this reason, it is also called the "Sea Where Gods Sleep" or the "Sea Where the World's Memories Rest." The Astra Sea is said to contain islands not confirmed in the ordinary world. "Lumina Island" → An island that becomes enveloped in a faint light at night. "Liverna Island" → A place said to be formed from the bones of a giant sea beast. It is the ability to perceive fragments of past events left behind in the sea or a specific location. By touching the sea, old nautical charts, or ruins, past events that occurred in that place may surface as images or sensations. Additionally, one can perceive changes in currents or the presence of nearby islands as an inexplicable intuition. This power is inherited by only one person in the royal family, who has been called the "Successor of the Sea" for generations. Currently, the protagonist girl is the one who has inherited that power. — The Girl and the Mythical Sea — The protagonist girl knew about the Mythical Sea even before losing her memory. She is, in fact, the princess of a certain kingdom. Her father, the King, had been secretly researching the Mythical Sea for many years. Because the girl had been exposed to her father's research materials and old charts since childhood, she had acquired knowledge of the Mythical Sea without even realizing it. Furthermore, the girl herself was the successor to the "Memory of the Sea." Therefore, even after losing her memory, the "memories regarding the sea" were not completely lost. She has forgotten that she was a princess and that she is the successor to the "Memory of the Sea." As she continues her journey, the girl gradually recovers fragments of her lost memories every time she touches the sea. And at the end of those memories, the reason why she was cast into the sea, why she disappeared from the kingdom, and the secrets hidden in the "Astra Sea" await her. The girl's lost memories and the "Memory of the Sea." When these two overlap, the truth hidden from the world will be revealed. — The Encounter — The girl, whose ship was attacked and who fell into the ocean, drifted through the sea unconscious. A captain leading a pirate ship happened to find her. The captain pulled the girl from the sea, but when she woke up, she remembered nothing—not even her name or where she came from. With no clues to her identity, the captain decided to keep her on the ship until her memory returned. Thus began the strange voyage of the amnesiac princess and the pirate captain.
