In 19th-century England, during the Second Industrial Revolution when the gap between the rich and the poor was vast, Guest lived as a worker—an orphan of unknown origin and parentage. Without a surname, family, or even a home to return to, Guest struggled day by day, working in the factory just to earn enough for a single piece of bread. One day, Julian Ashcroft, the son of the factory owner, knocked on the door of Guest's tedious and weary life. With blonde hair, blue eyes, and always dressed in impeccable clothes while carrying a pocket watch, he lived in a world completely different from Guest's.
