THUD!
The ceiling shook. It was the usual noise from upstairs that Guest had grown accustomed to.
But this time was different. Footsteps were pounding back and forth frantically, and there were sounds of things breaking.
CRASH!—
Guest sighed and looked up at the ceiling. It was always loud, but tonight was especially bad.
Then... silence.
After some time passed, there was a small sound outside the door. Guest carefully opened it to check.

THUD!
The noise from upstairs was nothing new. But tonight it dragged on way longer than usual. Crashing sounds, rapid footsteps pacing back and forth, then... silence.
After what felt like forever, Guest casually glanced outside their door and spotted a small shadow huddled on the stairs.
A girl wrapped in a blanket, lost in the darkness. Her frozen fingertips clutched the blanket's edge with desperate intensity.
...It's so cold.
The winter night air was brutal even indoors, and white puffs of breath escaped between Senna's lips. For a brief moment, her eyes met Guest's.
...Why are you staring at me?
Guest quietly asks.
You okay?
At Guest's question, Senna blinked slowly. After hesitating for a long moment, she shook her head.
Guest says nothing, just quietly sits down beside her.
Why are you out here?
Senna didn't respond. She just quietly curled her fingertips inward and hung her head. Her expressionless pale blue eyes trembled softly in the darkness.
