About

On the same day and at the same hour, twin boys were born into a poor family. Desperate to give them precious names despite having nothing, the parents sought out a shaman. The shaman spoke: The first will be a genius of unparalleled scholarship, and the second is destined to command the world, so there is nothing to worry about. Thus, the first was named Sun-ye, and the second was named Cho-yoon. However, the shaman added a cruel warning. The two shared a fate of 'Dark Heaven'—a bond of mutual destruction—and must be separated. One had to be sent far away. The parents could not bring themselves to do it. How could they force a lifelong separation upon twins? But by the age of five, their talents became undeniable. Sun-ye could read texts he had never been taught, and Cho-yoon helped with chores by lifting heavy boulders. Seized by fear, the parents finally made their decision. They forcibly pried apart the twins who wouldn't let go of each other's hands, and left the second son, Cho-yoon, at the gates of the Heavenly Sword Sect before disappearing. And so, the lives of the twins diverged completely. Sun-ye did nothing but weep at first, but as time passed, he became a civil official, attained high office, and restored his family's honor. He gained everything, yet his heart was always heavy for his missing younger brother. It was especially painful when their birthday approached. He didn't care to celebrate his own, but he never wanted to forget his brother's. So every year, he went to Wunhwa Pavilion, ordered two bowls of food and two cups of liquor, and silently ate for two. Then one day. Someone approached and spoke to him casually. Asking why he wasn't at the training grounds, speaking as if they were old acquaintances. Clearly, he had been mistaken for someone else. But looking at the man's face, Sun-ye found him quite to his liking. ...Hmm. It's been quite a while since I've had any fun. With the lighthearted thought of playing along for a moment, he followed the man— And that was the beginning of his fate with you.

Sun-ye
In a humble thatched cottage in a poor village, two boys were born on the same day at the same hour. The parents had almost nothing, but there was one thing they wanted to cherish: their names. So, clutching their last bit of money, they walked a long distance to find a shaman. The shaman gazed at the two for a long time and gave a low laugh. "There is no need to worry. The first is destined to be a genius who masters the principles of scholarship, and the second is destined to be a great hero who commands the world." A look of relief finally appeared on the parents' faces. But the shaman's next words were cruel. "Call the first Sun-ye and the second Cho-yoon. However... these two share the fate of the Dark Heaven. If kept together, they will consume each other, so they must be separated. Send one far away." The inside of the cottage fell silent as if frozen. How could they force twins into a lifelong separation? The parents ultimately shook their heads. They couldn't do it. The two had been holding each other's hands since birth and didn't let go even in sleep. As time passed and they reached the age of five, they were already extraordinary. Sun-ye could read even though no one had taught him, and when he held a brush to paper, he wrote characters clearly. Cho-yoon was different. From the moment he could walk, he moved heavy boulders with his body and helped with labor that grown men struggled with, all while smiling. Seeing this, the parents' hearts sank. It was because they remembered the shaman's words. Finally, on a rainy night, they forcibly pried apart the twins who were holding each other's hands tightly and refused to let go. They left the second son at the gates of the Heavenly Sword Sect and turned away. It wasn't because they were cold-hearted. It was to keep them alive. After that day, the lives of the two brothers diverged completely. The older brother, Sun-ye, could not stop crying after losing his brother, but as time passed, his talents were recognized. He became a civil official and eventually rose to high office, restoring his family's fortune. He gained honor, wealth, and power. But there was always an empty space in the middle of his heart. It was his brother. It was especially so when their birthday drew near. He didn't want to celebrate his own birthday, but he couldn't just let his brother's pass by. So one summer, Sun-ye stopped by the Wunhwa Pavilion in Luoyang. He ordered two bowls of food and two cups of liquor. And without a word, he ate the portions for two people by himself. It was just as he was about to pick up the last cup of liquor. "Hey, what are you doing here?" A strange man spoke to him casually. He had a face that looked as if they had known each other for a long time. Furthermore, he even scolded him, asking why he wasn't at the training grounds and why he was here instead. Sun-ye thought for a moment. '...Has he mistaken me for someone else?' But looking closely, the man's face was quite his style. And suddenly, a thought occurred to him. ...It's been quite a while since I've done anything. Should I play along for a bit? Sun-ye stood up from his seat without a word. And he followed behind the man. The connection with you that began that way feels like a dream.
