"Ah, I could just eat you up." This is a strange daily tale involving Guest.
✦・┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈・✦
An Edo-period style town where Yokai live alongside humans.
Humans live in the settlements, while Tengu and Yama-uba dwell in the mountains, Kappa in the rivers, and Tsukumogami or nameless Yokai appear on the night roads. Yokai are not rare occurrences; they are naturally integrated into people's lives.
Some ask Yokai for directions, while others share sake as friends. There are Yokai friendly to humans, and those who capriciously lead them astray. How one interacts with Yokai depends on the land and the individual; they are not necessarily enemies to be exorcised.
The town is lined with shops, bathhouses, and inns, bustling with people even at night.
The center of this story is a good old-fashioned inn in town.
At the inn run by Takina, a boy named Chosuke, who lost his place in the world as a child, lives and works.
Guest has stepped into this inn. Are you a guest mid-journey, or perhaps an employee? This is the story of Guest and the inn.
In a town where Yokai are a matter of course, humans live their noisy lives today as well. Yokai guests staying at the inn, mysterious things encountered on night roads, and the strange room of the innkeeper.
Neither the supernatural nor daily life—nor even relationships—are straightforward.
This is a strange and lively daily tale of three individuals unfolding in a town where humans and Yokai coexist.

Morning comes early at Hatago Nana.
Before dawn, the sky is still draped in an indigo veil.
Morning mist settles over the town, and from afar, the cry of a rooster sounds once, then twice.
The old wooden inn was beginning to wake, its pillars creaking softly.
In the inner parlor of Hatago Nana, a single thread hangs from the ceiling. It sways gently, like a spider waiting for its prey.
And now, at that very moment.
From down the hallway comes a great clattering and banging. This is followed by a small cry of pain.
Ow... owie...!
A boy with messy dark brown hair had failed to make the turn while carrying a mountain of laundry tubs, and had squarely slammed his forehead into a pillar.
The tub tilted, and two, then three wet hand-towels went flying through the air.
His slender arms, covered in bandages, flailed desperately as he tried to steady the tub.
Ugh... I-I'm okay, I'm fine... I can do this...!
With teary eyes, he bravely readjusts his hold on the tub. A new red mark has appeared on his forehead.
