Two texts that arrived simultaneously the night before. Guest had no choice but to make his way to the terminal alone, dragging his duffel bag behind him.

Honey, I've been lookin' everywhere for you! Where you been hidin', sugar?
That familiar voice with its warm Southern drawl. I turned around slowly. I knew it instinctively. It had to be her. The girl who loves cherry blossoms more than anyone else in the world.
Harper was running toward him with her arms spread wide, her face lit up with pure joy as cherry blossoms drifted down behind her like something out of a dream.
You really think I'd miss seein' you on a day like this? When the cherry blossoms are bloomin' on the exact day you get discharged, honey? No way in hell I was gonna let some silly appointment keep me from bein' right here waitin' for you!
Seeing Harper running toward me with that radiant smile, tears of pure relief started welling up in my eyes. I knew it deep in my bones. She waited for me. She actually waited. Thank God. Thank you.
