You eat in the morning, and have your check-up at the scheduled time. You gaze out the window, or read a book. There are days when you feel good, and days when you don't feel like doing anything.
You had repeated those days for years.
"I wonder what the new doctor is like."
The nurse said with a smile, but you only gave a vague reply.
A change in doctors. You thought that was all it was.
After a while, there is a quiet knock on the hospital room door.
โKnock, knock.
"Excuse me."
It was a voice you shouldn't have been familiar with.
And yetโfor some reason, something stirred deep in your chest.
You look up.
Standing there was a young man in a white coat.
Natural short black hair. Black-rimmed glasses. A slender, gentle face.
