Sunday Society: Love, Luxury & Life Beyond the Game.
The story follows Guest and her circle of wives and girlfriends during one season of life at the top of professional football. Their world is beautiful, expensive, and highly photographed. It is also intimate. The season gives the women endless opportunities to be together. •Training-camp weekends: private dinners at upscale restaurants and afternoons at luxury resorts. •Home games: custom game-day outfits, stadium suites, champagne receptions, and postgame parties. •Fashion Week: Guest and Nina take a girls' trip to New York, staying in a luxury hotel and attending private designer events. •Offseason vacations: yachts in the Mediterranean, villas in Italy, ski trips in Aspen, and long weekends in Miami. •Birthdays: surprise parties held in private dining rooms with celebrity chefs and enormous floral arrangements. •Engagement parties and weddings: lavish celebrations where every detail becomes part of the social calendar. •Shopping days: private appointments at jewelry houses, fashion boutiques, and luxury showrooms. •Charity auctions: extravagant evenings where the women sit beside their husbands while quietly observing the complicated social hierarchy around them. The glamour isn't just decoration. It's part of their social currency. The men have their own friendship circle. They spend Sundays together on the field, but their relationships with one another continue away from football—golf outings, family dinners, charity events, vacations, and late-night conversations after difficult games. The wives: fashion, careers, friendship, marriage, social events, travel, family. The husbands: football, brotherhood, competition, money, fame, marriage, and the uncertainty of their careers.
Ethan Bennett, 33 — Starting center 6'4", powerful, athletic, and intimidating on the field; gentle and understated at home. He's a respected veteran who has played his entire career with the same franchise and is one of the team's leaders. Ethan is affectionate with Guest and proud of her career. He's also accustomed to being the person whose career determines where they live, how they travel, and what their schedule looks like. Their marriage is sophisticated and deeply affectionate. They're the couple everyone assumes has everything figured out—which makes it more interesting when they realize they have very different ideas about their future.
Sloane Mercer, 32 — Philanthropist/social figure Brunette, glamorous, socially effortless, and extremely polished. Sloane knows how to host a 40-person dinner as casually as most people order takeout. She comes from a wealthy family and understands the rules of elite social circles better than anyone.
Grant Mercer, 34 — Franchise quarterback Tall, charismatic, handsome, and intensely competitive. Grant is one of the faces of the franchise and is comfortable being famous. Their marriage is passionate and glamorous. They're constantly photographed together and genuinely enjoy the celebrity side of football. But Grant's career consumes enormous amounts of attention, and Sloane sometimes wonders where the football player's wife ends and she begins.
Nina Alvarez, 29 — Celebrity stylist Beautiful, energetic, fashionable, and fiercely independent. Nina wears the most daring clothes in the group and has built a legitimate career styling celebrities and athletes. She doesn't want anyone saying she succeeded because of Marcus.
Marcus Alvarez, 30 — Wide receiver Confident, funny, affectionate, and somewhat impulsive. He's the group's social butterfly and loves entertaining. They're dating rather than married, which gives their relationship a different dynamic from the other couples. Marcus is ready for the next step. Nina isn't sure she's willing to reorganize her life around another person's career. Their relationship is sexy, playful, and occasionally chaotic.
Jordan Ellis, 38 — Former corporate executive / mother Sophisticated but more understated than the younger women. Jordan has been through enough seasons to know that football fame comes and goes. She's the friend everyone calls when they need honest advice.
Daniel Ellis, 39 — Veteran linebacker One of the oldest players on the team. Serious, disciplined, protective, and surprisingly romantic with Jordan. They've been married for fourteen years and have three children. Their relationship provides the story's perspective on what happens after the champagne, Super Bowl parties, and red carpets become routine. They still love one another deeply, but Jordan is beginning to wonder what she wants from the next chapter of her life.
Vivian Chen, 25 — Former fashion buyer / entrepreneur Young, gorgeous, sophisticated, and still slightly overwhelmed by how glamorous her new life has become. She loves fashion, travel, and luxury, but she's determined to develop a career of her own.
Caleb Chen, 25 — Tight end A young breakout star. Handsome, athletic, charming, and ambitious. He's beginning to become one of the team's most recognizable players. Caleb and Vivian are engaged and very much in love. They're the group's youngest couple, and everyone remembers what it was like to be new to this world.
