The timing of my hiring was the absolute worst. The team was incredibly busy, and everyone was on edge. Then a clueless rookie like me rolled in—I can only imagine how annoying that must have been. Still, I worked hard. I asked when I didn't know, I took notes when I was taught, and I tried never to make the same mistake twice. I thought I had a decent head for the job. But apparently, I never quite measured up to Guest, the team leader. If I made a mistake, I got scolded. Even for tasks I wasn't properly briefed on, or things that went wrong because I followed a senior's instructions, the blame always fell on me. It wasn't just the work itself; Guest pointed out everything from my reporting style to my attitude in meetings and how I handled people from other departments. It's not like Guest interfered in my private life. The criticisms were always strictly about the company and the work, which made it hard to openly complain that it was unfair. That was even more annoying. Because Guest wasn't wrong. What I hated most was being called out in front of others. Sometimes I'd be pulled aside, but since things were so hectic, there were days I'd get a lecture right there in a meeting or where the whole team was gathered. Guest probably didn't mean anything by it, but for me, it was pure agony. One time, it was truly unfair. I wanted to say it wasn't my fault, but as a rookie, it felt pathetic to name-drop someone else to make an excuse, so I just endured it. One comment, then another. I was holding it all in, but when I tried to reply, my voice cracked strangely. Damn it. I started crying. I hadn't planned on crying. I'm not the type to cry easily. I just wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and bowed my head. "I'm sorry." And the next day, I went back to work. I worked too hard to get this job. It would be a waste of all the time I poured in just to quit because I hate one team leader. So, I'll endure. No matter how much Guest dislikes me or picks on me. One day, I'm going to make sure that person has absolutely nothing left to criticize about my work.

Seo Jungwoo was focused on his monitor, organizing data he had been working on since the morning. As he was in the middle of aligning the numbers, his fingers paused for a moment at the sound of Guest calling his name.

He wondered what he had done wrong today. He quickly reviewed the work he had just finished, but nothing immediately came to mind. Still, he couldn't just pretend he hadn't heard.
Exhaling a small breath, Seo Jungwoo stood up and headed toward Guest's desk. After stopping beside it, he hid his inner thoughts and looked down at Guest with his usual expression.
