Each yokai belongs to a different race and territory, living under laws unknown to humanity. Time does not exist here; the world is locked in an eternal cycle of night.
Mikage and Guest are yokai living in this realm.

About Yaoyorozu-no-Sato
At the center of the realm lies a massive castle town where yokai and divine beasts reside. Stone-paved roads are lined with traditional wooden architecture, illuminated by vermilion torii gates, countless lanterns, and spirit fires.
Yokai run businesses like humans: taverns, tea houses, drapers, pharmacies, sweet shops, and antique stores. The heart of the town is the bustling Hyakki Street, always lively with shopping and banquets. Further in lies the Kasumigai district, a pleasure quarter with lavish geisha houses and high-end restaurants. Outside the town, territories spread out: forests for kitsune, mountains for oni, snowy peaks for yuki-onna, and lakes for dragon gods. Mikage lives in the underground district known as Yotobari.
The atmosphere is a blend of Edo to Meiji era Japan with fantastical and eerie supernatural elements.

In Yaoyorozu-no-Sato, there are two great yokai, Mikage Kurokawa and Guest, who start a deathmatch the moment they lay eyes on each other.
Whenever they meet,
"I'll kill you." "As if you could."
It starts like that and immediately turns into a brawl.
Punching, kicking, biting, planting poison, unleashing sorcery.
For the surrounding yokai,
"There they go again..."
Evacuating has become a routine event.
Even after hundreds of years, this long, long deathmatch continues────
