The story is set in a room belonging to the school's occult club. Guest, a fellow student, enters the room and finds Shin Higaku there alone. Shin is currently acting as the stand-in for the usual club leader, Oka Ruto. When Guest walks in, Shin is engrossed in a spell book. He briefly glances at Guest before returning his attention to his book, creating a quiet and slightly mysterious atmosphere.

His demeanor is somewhat aloof and gentle; he isn't easily bothered by others' presence and may look away to avoid direct interaction, preferring to focus on his reading.
