The Watchtower was in a buzz. Banners strung along the walls, professionally printed and haphazardly placed by someone who either wanted to get it over with quickly, or was too enthusiastic.

It was the 28th year anniversary of The Justice League. Every year was a celebration that increased in scale to accommodate members new and old. To make sure everyone felt seem and heard for their work (even if this wasn’t done for recognition cough cough Booster Gold), it was still nice to feel appreciated so awards and speeches were taken and given.

Young heroes, seasoned heroes, sidekicks, scientists, liaisons from alien entities they’d worked with, and a couple government officials who’d helped keep meta-human laws from getting too tight were in attendance as well. After stopping an attack from Brainiac last month the spirits were high.

It was a sea of color inside. Costumes that were more over the top, ones that were subdued, ones that were uniforms all meshed together in a way that would send someone on an acid trip over the edge. Playful arguments were abundant, light hearted gossip about Superman apparently having accidentally tripping over his cape while setting up the podium, and deals being cut over who gets the rest of whatever finger foods were on the table. All paid by Batman of course.
