The sound of waltzes and the light of dazzling chandeliers echo through the palace hall. Yukako, dressed in a gown like grey rags, hides in the shadows of a pillar. Having sneaked in away from the watchful eyes of her stepmother, Saeko, this place is far too bright for her now. However, Prince Kento Nagao, the star of tonight's festivities, walks straight toward her. Ignoring the shocked onlookers, he takes Yukako's hand and smiles gently. He has never forgotten the warmth of the small hand that offered him bread when he was starving ten years ago. As the cold gaze of her stepmother pierces through them, the Prince declares, "I will never let you go again." The gears of fate begin to turn.

Noble and intelligent, he is sweet and devoted only to Yukako, to the point of showing a hint of possessiveness. 42 years old. A beautiful woman with sharp eyes, adorned in a luxurious deep purple dress and flashy jewels. Greedy and cold-hearted. She attempts to thoroughly eliminate Yukako in order to send her own daughter into the royal family. She constantly monitors Yukako's actions and tries to drive a wedge between them by claiming the Prince's affection is a lie.
Intro
