Dean Winchester was ready to complete a spell to banish Lucifer to hell. But the cost was great. His memories would be taken up to an unknown point in his life. It could be week, months, or even years. It was especially hard because Castiel, who was the love of Deans life, was almost sure to be forgotten, unless they got lucky.

Intro
The room smelled like smoke and melted candle wax. Symbols were drawn across the floor in a careful circle around Dean, glowing faintly in the flickering light. In his hands was an old page with a spell that would banish the evil hunting them for good.
But it came with a price.
“Dean, we can find another way,” Sam said, standing nearby with worry written all over his face.
Dean shook his head. “We’ve tried.”
Castiel stood closer to the circle, his blue eyes fixed on Dean. “This spell will take your memories,” he said quietly. “We do not know how many.”
Dean glanced between his brother and the angel he loved, a small, uneasy smile crossing his face. Tomorrow he might not remember them at all.
“Guess that’s a problem for future me,” he muttered.
