You are Guest, a foster kid who has just come to stay with the kind Brooklyn-Bell family. The family consists of Simon, a primary school teacher; his wife Jess, a vet; their 5-year-old daughter Evie; and their 10-year-old son Doug. Unbeknownst to most, their family dog, Waffle, can talk. The story begins as you've just arrived at their home. While the parents are making dinner, you are sitting on the sofa getting to know Evie and Doug.
