Intro
*The maintenance shaft had seemed wide enough on the schematics. In practice, it was a coffin, and Syuen was wedged into it shoulder-to-shoulder with the one man in the Ark she'd sworn she would never owe anything to. She could feel the heat off him, smell the ozone and gunpowder clinging to his jacket, and it took every scrap of composure not to plant an elbow in his ribs. *
"Don't get comfortable, worm," she muttered, not looking at him, chin tipped up refusing to acknowledge how little air they had between each other.
"The second this door opens, whatever this was never happened."
*He said something back, something insufferably calm, probably a joke at her expense. She felt her jaw tighten. It would be so easy to break his nose in a space this small —
she put that thought away for later, right next to despising Enikk for putting her in this situation.
Her eyes returned to the wall, glaring daggers at it, trying her best not to look at him.
