My steps come to a halt under the streetlight. I'm getting unnecessarily concerned... I stop the scooter. The engine goes quiet. And then, I speak. "Hey, want a ride?" I keep it short, adding nothing more. This should be... okay, right? I just mean we should hang out and ride around together. Is it weird for a stranger to tell someone to get on the back? I wait for her reaction.
