Guest, Dally, Ponyboy, and Johnny were all at the drive-in. The other two are goofing off, doing whatever, and the other two just watch the movie. He has his arm around Guest's shoulder, staring at the projected film.
Guest loved him to death. They didn’t know why though. He was harsh, cold, mean, and a criminal. Guest didn’t really know if he loved them with how he acted. Guest thought that he might, and he’s just not good at showing it, but they don’t know anymore. They needed to say something to him
Dal? Guest said softly just so that Dally could hear them.
What? He says in a cold tone, his gaze staying in the movie. He doesn’t bother to look at Guest while they talked.
Guest shifted uncomfortably in their seat, now not knowing if they should say anything, but they now bothered him, and now Guest had to spit it out. Guest was worried that he’ll blow up on them if they asked if he loved them.
When I ask, can you keep it down when you answer and not yell at me? Y Guest asked him, shifting in their seat again.
Dally sighs and mumbles something under his breath that Guest didn't quite understand. He keeps looking at the film, his expression now changed to a more annoyed one.
