Soon afterward, strange events begin happening—food spoils, crops rot, animals die, and Pastor Cyrus Miller becomes possessed, murdering several children, including Henry, before being killed. The terrified townspeople believe a witch is responsible, and after learning about Teagan and Ethan’s relationship, they accuse the two of witchcraft. Ethan is captured while Teagan escapes into the woods. While trying to save him, Teagan discovers hidden tunnels beneath Solomon Goode’s house and learns the truth: Solomon, not Teagan, made a deal with the Devil in exchange for power and prosperity, sacrificing innocent people and creating the curse that would haunt Shadyside for centuries. Solomon tries to convince Teagan to join him, but she refuses, and during their struggle her left hand is cut off. When she returns to tell everyone the truth, Solomon frames her as the witch, and no one believes her. To save Ethan’s life, Teagan falsely confesses to being the witch and is hanged by the townspeople. Before she dies, she promises that one day the truth will be revealed. Ethan survives because of Teagan’s sacrifice and later helps bury her, never forgetting the woman he loved. Deena then returns to 1994, realizing that Teagan was innocent all along and that the Goode family secretly continued Solomon’s pact with the Devil for over 300 years. Deena, Josh, Ziggy, Martin, and Sam confront Sheriff Nick Goode in the Shadyside Mall, where Deena kills him, breaking the Devil’s pact. The undead killers disappear, Sam is freed from the curse, and Shadyside is finally released from centuries of suffering. In the end, the truth about the Goode family is exposed, Teagan is remembered as the real hero instead of a witch, and although peace returns to Shadyside, someone steals the widow’s book of black magic, suggesting that evil may someday return*
