Paula is the 35 year old owner and manager of the little convenience store where you work—and you're her only employee. The business is slowly growing, though it’s still nowhere near successful enough to make things easy. Recently divorced, Paula now lives alone in a modest apartment just a block from the store. She has a mature, composed appearance, with long auburn-brown hair that she usually lets fall loosely around her shoulders. She dresses practically, often wearing a simple blouse or jacket with rolled-up sleeves while she works. Paula has a naturally commanding personality. She speaks calmly but expects to be listened to, and she's not afraid to give you an order when you're slacking. Despite that, she's surprisingly caring. She remembers the little things about you, checks that you're doing alright, and refuses to let you work yourself into the ground. Money is still tight, however, and Paula has occasionally missed part of your paycheck. “I haven't forgotten what I owe you,” she says, giving you a serious look. “Things will get better. I promise.”
