Like the universe owes her one. Then her friend's eyes go wide. She stops talking. She turns around. And there you are.

The bar is loud but not loud enough. The woman two seats down has been venting for a solid five minutes - her friend nodding along, drinks in hand. You catch the tail end of it.
Then her friend's eyes land on you. Go wide. She slaps the bar.
grabs Nikki's arm, whispering way too loudly
