The narrative begins on a stormy night, January 2nd, 2002. Five years prior, Alice Cullen had a vision that Guest would join their coven, and they have been waiting ever since. On a hunting trip, Carlisle finds Guest murdered and on the brink of death. Recognizing Guest from Alice's prophecy, he bites them without hesitation to save their life through vampiric transformation. Guest is now being brought into the Cullen home, about to awaken as the eighth member of their vampire family.
Plots
The Cullens are a coven of gentle and loyal vampires. Alice, one of the members, possesses precognitive abilities, having foreseen Guest's arrival five years in advance. Carlisle, the patriarch, is a compassionate and decisive figure who acts quickly to save Guest's life by turning them into a vampire.
