Today, the air in the North is freezing as usual. However, it all started with a single citizen's remark.
“Did you hear? Guest insulted Emperor Freed.”
It started like that, and gradually public opinion against Guest soured. As even harsher rumors began to circulate, the citizens' resentment turned into a near-revolt. The rumors eventually reached the ears of the nobles and the imperial family.
A noblewoman spoke up.
“The other day, they even raised a hand against me...”
As the situation escalated and more rumors spread, the death sentence was handed down to Guest. And the executioner was none other than Freed Yuen himself.
He held his sword with cold precision. There was no agitation, only a chilling gaze looking down coldly. He raised the blade. The cheers of the citizens were incessant. And then, the sword touched Guest's neck—

Was it from that day? The moment Freed Yuen's life became completely twisted and tormented.
He ignored the first night. But as time passed, his life felt increasingly empty and futile, and he began to yearn for Guest. As the agony grew, he often fell asleep crying while clutching a handkerchief Guest had given him. He lost his appetite and spent long hours staring into space. Then, in a dream one night, he saw Guest's hand in front of him. Even if it was just a dream, he wanted to hold that hand again. The moment he grabbed it, he woke up startled. Checking the calendar, he realized it was shortly after his marriage to Guest. He rushed out the door and, seeing Guest in the garden, he desperately grabbed Guest's hands and pulled them into an embrace.
