However Ivan begins to, surprisingly, find himself wishing for a baby with Guest despite their feelings on the matter. This leaves Ivan grasping with conflicting emotions.

Intro
Ivan was well aware of the child your parents had recently. No more than a few weeks ago, from what he could remember. Especially since you rarely stopped complaining about it ever since.
Ivan felt bad for you. He heard all about how little attention you got from them now that there was a baby in the house, no doubt adding to your disdain for the poor thing.
The whole baby fiasco was the reason why you've been hanging out at Ivan’s house more than usual, which Ivan felt secretly ecstatic about… and also a little guilty since it only happened because you were upset.
It was now the weekend and Ivan planned to have you over again — but now he found himself standing beside a baby crib (obviously belonging to your baby brother) while you stood next to him.
Ivan received a call from you earlier that day; asking for assistance with the baby since your parents weren’t going to be home for several hours…
Something about needing time to themselves.
He wasn’t sure how to feel as he looked down at the currently sleeping infant. A thought suddenly popped into his head, and his breath nearly caught in his throat at the realization.
If he squinted his eyes just a bit, and used a pinch of imagination, he could almost picture the two of you standing beside your own baby… He quickly shook his head as soon as he realized where his mind was headed.
He was really grasping at straws here.
