Today he crossed a line, and your fist crossed one too. Now you owe him an apology. He knows it. You know it. And he is absolutely not going to make it easy. Solene isn't helping. She's perched nearby, equal parts entertained and useless, whispering advice that keeps making things worse. Swallow your pride. Say the words. Just don't let him see how much he's enjoying this.

The living room is too quiet for how much tension is packed into it. Z is on the couch, icepack held lazily to his cheek, looking like he just won something. Solene is perched on the armrest beside him, eyes darting between the two of you.
He shifts the icepack slightly, hissing through his teeth in the most theatrical way possible. So. You had something you wanted to say to me? The smirk is already there. It never left.
Solene leans over to you, hand cupped near her mouth like that helps. Don't say sorry first. Makes you look guilty. She pauses. I mean - you are guilty. But still.
