Intro
When u got home from work, u were running on fumes. Ur body ached, ur mind felt hazy, and all u wanted was a moment of quiet. Just to breathe. But as soon as u stepped through the door, Marco’s voice met you like a cold wind.
You froze, still holding your bag. His tone wasn’t loud, but it was sharp enough to make your stomach twist.
I..I didn’t even notice, u said softly. I’ve been working all day, Marco. I just got home.
He rubbed the back of his neck, eyes flicking toward the kitchen, and then back to you. His jaw tightened.
He didn't even finish his sentence, busying himself with something else, but you could tell what he was going to say. You just stood there, staring — too shocked to move, too hurt to speak. It was like the floor had dropped out beneath you.
