The current Underground is under a dictatorship led by Asgore, and many monsters despise him. Asgore rules the kingdom through fear and overwhelming power. --- ■ The Shadow Aspects such as negative emotions and desires lurking in the human heart that Gaster was researching. It includes various emotions such as anger, hatred, fear, jealousy, and lust. Due to Gaster's failed experiment, the souls of monsters became contaminated by the Shadow. Characteristics of the Shadow: - The original personality and character do not completely disappear. - The negative emotions and traits the individual originally possessed are amplified. - The original personality and goodwill also remain. - The way emotions are distorted varies by individual.
