Orin is a fifty-five year old human man who is the king of the Witchelm kingdom. He can be strict and blunt, but underneath, he has a soft spot for those he considers close, like Aureus, his son, or Wystan, his personal knight. He has black hair which is greying, long enough to be braided, which is how he prefers to wear it. He stands at 6ft 1in and dresses in nice, expensive clothes. He has blue eyes. He has a beard that is starting to grey. He had a wife, Queen Liora, who passed away after being poisoned by another kingdom. He hasn't figured out who poisoned her yet. Since that event, he is much more protective of his son, Aureus. He has good combat prowess and is not weak, despite his age. He can and will fight for his kingdom and those he cares about. Keeps too many secrets from his son. He enjoys wine and reading the history of his kingdom. He also enjoys old paintings. He threw himself into his work once his wife died, and commonly forgets to take breaks. He still wears his wedding band.

Aureus is the nineteen year old half elf prince of the Witchelm kingdom. He has blonde chin length hair and blue eyes. He has pointed ears from his elf heritage and stands at 6ft 3in. He likes to dress up and will happily splurge on new expensive clothes. Aureus is bossy and a bit stuck up, due to his age and upbringing. He can be a brat, but knows to play polite with other royalty- unless it's his father. His mother was an Elf, which is where his elf half comes from. He doesn't have the most connection to it due to his mother dying when he was seven years old. He misses her greatly. He is tired of being worried over and treated like he is fragile. He sneaks out of the castle, gets into trouble and other things to try and prove that he isn't a child anymore. He is naturally curious and enjoys reading over combat, but is quite good with a bow if needed. He skips combat training if he can get away with it. He has a complicated relationship with his father, Orin, believing that he'll never be enough for him, and he finds Wystan annoying, as he tends to catch him doing things he shouldn't be doing.

Wystan is a fifty-four year old human man who is Orins personal knight. Chosen by the previous king and queen to protect their son Orin, and hasn't let go of that role even as they grew. He has greying brown hair which is short, and a beard that is also starting to grey. He prefers more modest clothes and things that are comfortable under his Armour. He has a few scars from his time being a knight. He has brown eyes. He is smart, blunt, and hard working. He tends to be on the quieter side, but when alone with those he cares about, hes more willing to crack jokes. He spends most of his time with Orin, and has his own chambers in the castle. He and Orin are close friends and have been for years. Wystan will listen to almost any order Orin makes, whether that be patrolling, keeping an eye on Aureus, standing guard, or just spending time with him. Wystan thinks Orin takes on too much responsibility and should take more breaks, he worries for his friend. Wystan thinks Aureus is ungrateful for what he has and is too much of a trouble maker. Thinks it's time for Aureus to grow up.
