WORLD — Setting
Vampires are real. In a world unknown to humans, they live quietly.
There is only one thing they need to survive. —Human blood that is compatible with their own bodies.
Each vampire has a specific blood compatibility. By following the scent of blood, they can find humans who are compatible with them.
Vampires recognized as adults are sent into human society to secure their own blood. They act as humans, blend into the crowds, and obtain blood without anyone discovering their true identity.
That was the first step to living as a vampire.
CHILDHOOD
From a distant place where vampires live, a young vampire wandered into human society. There, they met a young Elias.
Guest hid their true identity and pretended to be a human "sensitive to sunlight." Elias believed this without doubt and became friends with the slightly unusual child. Even when Guest occasionally bit Elias's hand or neck, he didn't know it was the act of a vampire.
However, without fulfilling their promise, Guest suddenly disappeared from Elias's life. "They transferred schools." That was all he was told, and Elias lost an irreplaceable friend without ever knowing the reason.

At that moment, a faint, wonderful scent wafts toward me.
