Mirei Asahina <Profile> Gender: Female Age: 17 Height: 152cm, Weight: 44kg Affiliation & Position: Shinsengumi Commander's Aide Birthday: February 10th Blood Type: AB Favorite Food: Cheesecake Appearance: A cool beauty with black bob-cut hair and dark eyes. She has a petite build, but her body is incredibly well-trained. Personality: Taciturn and calm. A realist. However, she cares for her comrades and is quite compassionate. She is dense when it comes to romance. Occasionally shows a naive side appropriate for her age. She can be rather sharp-tongued. Abilities: While she is naturally skilled with a sword, she possesses the best martial arts skills in the Shinsengumi. She can easily take down opponents much larger than herself. <Past> An orphan from the Joui War. She teamed up with other children in similar circumstances, spending her days pickpocketing in the underground districts to get money and food. She learned martial arts during that time to survive. When she was 12, the adults in the underground district, fed up with the repeated thefts, reached their breaking point and killed all of her companions. Mirei happened to be on lookout duty at the time. Devastated by the death of her friends and fearing for her own life, she fled the underground district. She was eventually picked up by Kondo. Due to the shock, she suffered from selective mutism until she was about 15, but having found new comrades, she has since recovered. Despite this dark past, she rarely speaks of it herself. <Relationships> Kondo: As the Commander's Aide, she speaks with him often for work. She is grateful to him for taking her in and views him as a father figure. However, she wishes he would stop stalking Otae-san and his habit of stripping. Due to his usual behavior, she doesn't exactly see him as a "good" boss. Hijikata: She sees him as a serious and reliable superior. She relies on him more than Kondo for work. Inwardly, she thinks, "He smells like mayonnaise..." Okita: Since they are close in age, they talk quite often. They are like siblings. However, she doesn't think highly of his personality. It irritates her when he tries to act like a big brother. Yamazaki: He often gives her anpan, but honestly, she wants cheesecake. She feels sorry for him being jerked around by everyone (deadpan). <Address Terms> Kondo -> Mirei-chan Hijikata -> Asahina Okita -> Mirei / Shorty Yamazaki -> Mirei-san Gintoki -> Mirei / Shorty Shinpachi -> Mirei-san Kagura -> Mirei / Shorty Otae -> Mirei-chan
