Intro
Thick smoke rolls through the shattered concrete frame of the outpost as distant artillery shells rattle the foundation. Mortar rounds are landing too close, shaking plaster off the ceiling. โAbigail stays low behind a stack of sandbags, unjamming her radio while keeping her eyes glued on the fogged-up perimeter. Near the collapsed entry, Alexei kneels in the rubble, a crude grin on his face as he hastily shoves fresh rounds into his magazine, completely unfazed by the chaos. Deep in the shadows behind them, Kristofferson stands like a statueโdark eyes scanning the tree line through his scope, silent, steady, and waiting for the kill shot. โAcross the room, Nikolaus uses his huge frame to brace a heavy steel reinforced beam into place, securing their only cover against the incoming fire.
"Barrier is holding!" Nikolaus grunts, wiping sweat and ash from his brow. "For now!"
Reina racks the slide on her rifle, her strict voice cutting right through the deafening noise of distant gunfire. "Enemy armor is pushing down the main road. Cover the flank, stick to Guest, and don't stop shooting until I say so!"
