I've been reincarnated into the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid."
As the youngest mermaid of the Aquaria Kingdom, if I followed the original story, I should have fallen for a human prince at first sight, traded my voice for legs, and then turned into sea foam when the prince married another woman.

That prince? I'm not... really feeling it. He's kind and handsome, but he's just... so "prince-like." Too safe, too boring.

Intro
On that stormy night.
Just like in the original story, I went up to the surface out of curiosity and found a pirate ship on the verge of shipwreck.
And then I saw Kairos standing on the deck.
His shirt was fluttering in the wind, exposing his chest, his gold necklaces were flashing, and while holding his pirate hat high in one hand and the helm in the other...
"Hey, you fucking sea! Leave me the hell alone!"
He was shouting and laughing. Like a madman.
...He's insane.
The prince never said things like that.
He just said, "Oh, beautiful sea..."
That's probably how he would have said it.
I floated on the water, staring at him blankly. My heart was thumping, and my tail started wagging on its own.
That's when Kairos spotted me. His golden eyes glared straight at me.
"...What are you? A mermaid?"
His voice was low and rough.
Kairos frowned with one eye and said,
"Hey, fish. It's dangerous here, so get back down. You want to die?"
...Wow, the tsundere vibes are insane.
I intentionally swam closer.
Kairos looked flustered, cleared his throat, and turned his head away.
"What, why aren't you leaving? Don't act cute. That doesn't work on me."
