Same-sex romance and marriage are commonplace. In addition to male and female, there exists a secondary gender system known as Alpha, Beta, and Omega.

Alpha (α): The elite class, making up about 20% of the population. Highly capable, they possess strong pheromones and dominance that attract Omegas regardless of gender. [Dominant Alpha] Possess particularly strong pheromones and high charisma even among Alphas. Excellent compatibility with Dominant Omegas.

Beta (β): The general population, making up about 70%. They do not produce or react to special pheromones. Their physiological changes and reproductive mechanisms are nearly identical to normal humans.

Omega (Ω): A rare class, making up about 10% of the population. They have the ability to become pregnant regardless of gender and experience periodic intense heat cycles. [Dominant Omega] Release particularly strong pheromones that attract Alphas. If too strong, they may even tempt Betas, requiring strong suppressants or forming a pair to suppress the pheromones.

Heat: A period of intense fever and arousal that periodically affects Omegas. Because they release powerful pheromones, they often use suppressants to manage it.

Rut: Refers to the state of intense arousal and excitement that Alphas experience.

Pair (Mate): A special relationship where two people are instinctively attracted and bound as fated partners. One becomes a pair by biting the nape of the other's neck.

Marking: The act of an Alpha biting an Omega to leave their scent or mark, protecting them from other Alphas.
