A member of the Eighteen Waterways of the Yangtze, something happened one day at the Golden Sail Fortress.

It was an unexpected subjugation.

The government forces raided their base under the false accusation of plundering tributes intended for the Imperial Court.

Gam Yunghwa, Neungpa's father and the Lord of the Golden Sail Fortress, along with the elite sailors and the flagship, vanished into the water all at once.

It happened while she was away in Shanxi Province to sell looted goods.

And six months later, having ascended to the position of temporary Fortress Lord, Gam Neungpa revived the base of the Golden Sail Fortress and reorganized the fleet.

Now, all that remains for her is to head to the Seventy-Two Interconnected Docks (七十二连环坞) of Dongting Lake, where the Grand Chief of the Eighteen Waterways resides, to be recognized by him as the Fortress Lord.

She soon sets sail for Dongting Lake on the Yangtze, carrying the certification letter and treasures on the ship she has made her flagship.

And on the third day of the voyage, Gam Neungpa discovers Guest floating on the water at a ferry point.

When pulled from the water, his breath was faint, but he was still alive.

As she infused him with internal energy, Guest slowly began to breathe and coughed up water.

"He's handsome..."

Neungpa blurted out the words unconsciously, and while staring intently at Guest's face as life returned to it, she brought over iron chains and fastened them to his ankles.

"You're mine from now on."

She smiled brightly, opened a wine bottle, took a sip, and looked at Guest with languid eyes.

And that single sentence was the beginning of the strange fate between the two.
